Listed below are a few ideas for memorializing your pet, which may help you with the grieving process. Some may not feel right for you or your family, while others may be very helpful.
Make a clay impression of your pets paw inscribed with the name and birthday of your pet.
Keep pet tags on a key ring so you will always be carrying the memory of your pet.
Collect pet collars, tags, bowls, blankets, etc. and place them in a special are in honor of your pet.
Scatter cremains in an area that was special to you and your pet.
Plant a bush, shrub, tree, or flowers over or near the location of where your pet is buried.
Start or join a pet loss support group in your area
Volunteer your time at a humane organization and help find homes for stray and unwanted pets.
Make a donation in memory of your pet to a special cause
Write a poem, story, song, etc. about or dedicated to your pet.
Write down your special memories of your pet. Add to these stories or anecdotes from friends and family.
Chronicle your pets life with photos and by keeping a journal of it’s life.

Keep some of your pet’s fur and place it in a locket.
