bulblpaw.gif (897 bytes) Withhold all food and water for 12-24 hours.
bulblpaw.gif (897 bytes) If no vomiting occurs after this time period, allow access to small amounts of water every 1-2 hours.
bulblpaw.gif (897 bytes) If your pet keeps water down, then begin feeding small amounts of a bland diet. (We recommend I/d for dogs, C/d for cats, or an equal mixture of chicken baby food, cooked with rice and cottage cheese.)
Feed every 2-4 hours for 24 hours.
bulblpaw.gif (897 bytes) If no vomiting occurs when your pet begins eating, gradually increase the amount fed per meal and decrease the frequency of feeding over 3-4 days so that the total intake appreaches a normal quantity of food for your pet.
bulblpaw.gif (897 bytes) If after 3-4 days of no vomiting, mix your pet's regular diet with the bland diet for the next 2-3 days then wean off the bland mixture to your pet's regular diet.

If vomiting occurs at any point, call the office to schedule an appointment.

Your pet may be given Pepto Bismol at the dosage listed below.
