Quick Tips for Traveling With Your Pet

"According to the Travel Industry Association, 70% of pet owners would like to travel with their pets.  Veterinary Pet Insurance offers these tips on staying happy, healthy and safe:

Pets should have complete vaccinations and a physical exam before a trip.

When traveling by car, plan for twice as many rest stops as you would for a small child.

Avoid motion sickness by feeding your pet only a small meal a few hours before setting out.

The safest way for your dog to travel by car is in a crate in the back seat or cargo area.

Ask if airlines require pets to have a health certificate before they can fly.

Make sure your pet has a strong collar and I.D. tag.  It's also a good idea to microchip a pet."
